Inspiration.......

I'm sorry I have not been on in soo long. I have been dealing with Garrett being gone and then he got to come home for 4 days. Well once again I dropped him off at base thursday morning to leave me and our little dumpling for a whole 23 days. He is due to be home on the 4th of September, but leaves shortly after for 8 long weeks of water training in San Diego. At least on that training I can go down and see him on the weekends! We hope.

I spent all day yesterday crying and moping around the house wishing I had something to do. So today I got the energy to get out of the house and do routine shopping for payday. Plus I needed some things for my trip to Utah. Of course it was not easy knowing that once I got home and Shaina and Hannah left I would be there all alone with my thoughts and sleeping baby.

While out shopping today Hannah and I discovered this Christian bookstore that had a few books worth buying to help me through all of the pain of Garrett leaving for so often and as long as his training have been. So I decided to buy a few books (yes dear mommy in love I bought one for you as well). I am going to keep checking in and seeing everything that they have that I can read to help me keep going, so there is my inspiration for the year!

I have officially started redecorating Addi's bedroom. I'm keeping it on the cheap side, so it's been little wall stickers I've found at the dollar store and such things. I am going to start getting shelves to go in each of our rooms! Before I know it this place will be full and I will be wishing I was in a bigger place to keep me busy longer! Well I need to get some sleep so Goodnight all!

Family Fun Day

Friday Garrett's Battalion had a family fun day. On base next to the lake out by the hospital. They gave Garrett until 10 a.m. to be there since he had to bring Addi and I! He actually got to sleep in past 7 a.m.! He was soooo happy.

We got up around 7 and got ready woke up Addi and got her ready! She was in one of her little cut outfits with her flower headband. We attempted to put her little shoes on her ha not a success she kept pulling on them and trying to take them off. O well! She still looked absolutely adorable.

We left the house and headed towards base. Once we hit the 5 traffic started to get a little on the thick side. It turns out that they had opened the check station on the 5 and was checking every car for illegal immigrants! It was a pain in the neck. Once it was our turn to go up they waved us on through thank you Jesus for the base and Cpl stickers on the windshield of our car!

We got there and they had free food and games for all the families. There were blow up gyms for the kids, horse rides, a rock climbing wall, and a fight pit! They also had music adn were giving away free things.

Garrett did his check-in ordeal and visited his Sgt, then we were off to the food who can beat that right? Once we had eaten we went over to the rock climbing with the Patton's. Kendra the wife, climbed first while I video taped it, then I took my turn climbing. Poor Addi was to small and young to go on the blow-up gym, so she just got to chill and be cute for everyone to see!

We were at the lake until 1:30 p.m. and by then we were both a little sunburned haha! So we invited the Patton's to our apartment for swimming and dinner. They gladly accepted. So off we went. On our way home we decided to stop and order Garrett's name tapes for his new cami's. At the little uniform shop I found a cute purse and diaper bag and thought hmmm, I need one of each! Garrett told me to make my own out of his old ripped up cami pants! Great idea so now I need to go to Joann's for some inside material and a pattern! Wish me luck it has been at least 4 years since I have sewn anything besides holes in cami pants.

We got home and the Patton's showed up, so off to the pool we all went! Ahhhh nothing like a nice cold pool on a hot sunny day. By the way I did put sunblock on for that one since I was already kind of on my way to a sunburn. Addi got the baby sunblock at least 4 times during our outside time on Friday. Don't want to destroy her wonderful baby skin yet!

We spent 2 hours at the pool and came home heated up left-over meatloaf and watched "What happens in Vegas". Then the Patton's went home we got Addi ready for her beddy by time and then all of us went to slumber land! It was an over all wonderful day! I am going to enjoy the rest of tonight and tomorrow with Garrett since he wont be home for another 2 weeks:( So I am going to make the best of our time together! Goodnight all!

Free Food ;)

I have become obsessed with the word coupon! Hahahaha, I know quite funny! It is so worth spending the hour it takes to clip coupons out of the Sunday paper when you go to check out at the grocery store and you spend $30 on $100 worth of food!

My day started super early today. I got up around 7:15 got dressed and did my hair and make-up, while I had my usual morning cup of coffee! Then I woke up Addi, changed her wet bottom, dressed her and fed her. We were off by 8:00 a.m. to my friend Hannah's house. Around 8:30 we all loaded up into her little station wagon and were off to the WIC office! Once we got there I spent close to an hour and a half signing all kinds of papers to be on California WIC. So much more complex then Washington WIC in WA I walked in handed off ID card, and Garrett;s LES and off I went with my checks. Not in the state of California no, I had to wait while they accessed my old Client # from WA, checked both my military ID and Driver's License, looked at Garrett's LES, and then asked for a bill for proof of residency. What a pain in the neck! Then I had to sit through at least a 30 minute video on how to use my WIC checks and what to look for in the store. I kept thinking to myself come on I'm not stupid I know how to read and it all comes with a pamplet!

Finally we were all set with our checks and I also got $20 worth of coupons for the Farmer's Market that goes on in the Court House parking lot every Saturday! Hannah and I came back to my house I made a yummy biscuits and gravy breakfast, then off we went to the grocery store! I used up a bunch of coupons clipped from the Sunday paper, and 2 of my WIC checks. Then we went along to Babies-R-Us. I was given $20 worth of Similac checks from the Similac website so I got stuff to take on the plane coming up in August, and the drive back so I am not trying to portion out formula while we are on the road. I paid a whole woppign $2 for a 16 pack of portioned out formula and little 6 8 ounce bottles hooray.

While we were at Babies-R-Us I discovered that they had name Binki's OMG! I had to buy one that says Addison! Garrett thinks that I am so crazy but I love it.

Once we got back to the apartment complex I got to go shopping in Hannah's cupboards since she is moving home while her husband is driving truck for the next 3 months non stop. I feel so blessed to have gotten all these groceries for soooo little.

Made a fantastic meatloaf for dinner and now Addi is having her little dinner and off to bed for us both! Goodnight all!

My how little children grow

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted anything so much is going on in our little home! Garrett is getting ready to leave for 11 days on a company hike through base. Yuck! I have been trying to get ahold of WIC. (I am just going to go in and yell at them for not calling me back over the past 2 weeks) Addi is growing like a weed!

Our morning routine consists of Addi crying at about 8 a.m. for me. I generally go in pick her up and place her in bed with me for cuddles and a little more sleep! She doesn't last more then an hour, I wake to little feet kicking at my face or stomach. She rotates her little body to where her feet are pointed directly at me! Then she proceeds to kick until I wake up. Why? I ask myself the same question. I guess its just a game for her to enjoy with me!

Every time I look at my little angel she has grown! She now comfortably fits into her 3-6 month clothes and I do believe is ready for me to pack up any of her 0-3 month clothes left in the closet! She has began to eat baby food anywhere from 1-3 times a day, supplemented with her formula and some rice cereal!

It is so hard for me to look at her and realize she is almost 5 months old! Where has the time gone? It just flies on past me with the blink of an eye. Before I know it she will be a year old and missing her daddy while he is gone on his MEU! Which by the way is coming up pretty soon January is not that far from now! I don't know the exact wording for MEU so when I find out I will fill everyone in on that one. I just know that he gets on a boat with a whole bunch of Marines and they sail around staying within 100 miles of some type of land incase of a disaster or war breaking out. I made Garrett promise to bring back a ton of stuff from presents to sand in little baggies and disposable cameras. I want lots and lots of photos! I also would love it if he would bring me a shot glass for each place, I have a shot glass for every state I have been in why not broaden my horizons right!

Well that is all I have for you all this good evening! I hope everyone is doing well and I hope the best for my dear father-in-law on his journey to the "Sandbox". I also pray he comes home safely! Good Luck John! Be safe and come home in one piece please, so Addi can do her own damage to you!

Dance your bottom off!!!!!!!

I am going to absolutely hate life tomorrow! Shaina and I decided to use Yoga as a warm up for this dance your way slim dvd Garrett's grandma gave me. Well now my thighs, calves, butte, and abs ache like its cool! We plan on doing it again tomorrow and the next day. She and I have come to the conclusion we need to get back into shape. I basically want to loose all my baby fat and look great again! Shaina just wants to tone up! This is going to be a major challenge for us but I believe that we can do it!
On another note Addi was a little pill today! She really tested my strength as a mother today. Crying a lot and whining like she was never going to see daylight again! I wound up feeding her then laying her down, she took a great nap almost an hour and a half long! I was so proud of my little angel. While she was asleep I took the baby monitor outside with me to the porch and tanned my semi-tan skin! It was unbelievably relaxing! By the time Addi awoke I was as refreshed as she was!
Addi and I played dress up after her nap and my tan! It was fun I dressed her in different outfits and took pictures of her! I am actually getting really good at this whole photography thing! Proud of myself:)
Garrett got home we all cuddled, went down to Shaina's for Pretty Little Liar's. Came home showered and put the baby down. Everyone is in bed and I think I am headed there now as well. Goodnight everyone!
